I share a weekly update on ways to be a better marketer, brand-maker, team-builder, and person. If you enjoy this, you can share some love by hitting the Substack heart button above or below.
Hi there 👋
In lieu of the usual marketing articles I share each week, I’ve included a number of articles and resources that have helped shape my perspective on race, diversity, privilege, and inclusion over the past years and recent days.
As many of you may know, I live in the U.S. — I’ve been doing my best to listen, learn, and participate in this moment. I’m proud that Buffer made a stand. And I’m hopeful we can all use these experiences to enact real change.
Wishing you all the best this week.

Five books, articles, & lists I’ve found helpful
Heavy
by Kiese Laymon

A powerful memoir about growing up as a Black man in America and all the injustices, inequality, and traumas he endured. There’s a powerful podcast interview with Kiese here, in which he goes deeper into the book, his family, and his experiences.
The Hate U Give
book by Angie Thomas

A novel about a 16-year-old Black student who witnesses the shooting death of a friend at the hands of a police officer. This book was recently made into a movie, too.
